Program

Our program is organized into levels of various difficulty.

To progress to the next level and start learning the corresponding material, a student must take and pass the exam for the previous level. Then we all celebrate his or her achievement and the student is awarded with the well-deserved skins and belt.

 

 

 

Curriculum:

  • Break falls.
  • Basic acrobatics.
  • Escapes from holds and chokes.
  • Basic understanding of security and threat model.
  • Potable water preparation.

Exam:

  • Basic PFE (Physical Fitness Exam).
  • Break falls.
  • Forward and back rolls, a roll over a shoulder.
  • Escapes from forward and back holds, bearhug and chokes (with no punches or kicks).
  • Building a threat model.

Curriculum:

  • Fighting stance.
  • Punches.
  • Kicks.
  • Basic understanding of computer privacy.
  • Basics of secure data storage and transmission.
  • Starting a fire in a good weather.

Exam

  • Basic acrobatics (army roll, cartwheel).
  • Punches (jab, cross, hook, uppercut, palm strike).
  • Kicks (front, roundhouse, side).
  • Accessing a website leaving minimal traces on you computer.
  • Securely storing and sending a file.
  • Starting fire in a good weather using a magnesium fire starter.
  • Preparing potable water.

Curriculum:

  • Knife work.
  • Knife throwing.
  • Basic compass and map navigation.
  • Basic understanding of physical security.

Exam

  • Pass at least 2 of PFE bronze tests.
  • Demonstration of basics of knife work.
  • Knife throwing.
  • Navigate to a point next to a landmark.
  • Determine coordinates of a landmark.
  • Creating a simple secure site (theory only).

Curriculum:

  • One-hand cartwheel.
  • Take downs.
  • Secure communications using computer.
  • Starting a fire in the rain.
  • Radio communications.

Exam

  • Passing at least 3 PFE bronze tests or 2 silver tests.
  • Basic take downs.
  • Setting up secure computer communications.
  • Starting a fire in the rain.
  • Setting up a radio and communicating using the standard vocabulary.

Curriculum:

  • Sparring one-on-one.
  • Computer security.
  • Safe use of cell phone.
  • Securing a camp site.

Exam

  • Passing at least 4 PFE bronze tests or 3 silver tests or 2 bronze and 1 gold tests.
  • 2 min one-on-one sparring against different opponents.
  • Setting up a secure computer environment.
  • Setting up a secure cell phone (theory only).
  • Securing a camp site.

Curriculum:

  • Creation and use of improvised weapons.
  • Defense against improvised weapons.
  • Defense against knife.
  • Advanced secure communications using computers.
  • Advanced compass and map navigation.

Exam

  • Passing at least 5 PFE bronze tests or 4 silver tests or 1 bronze, 1 silver and 2 gold tests.
  • Using 3 improvised weapons.
  • Defense against knife holds.
  • Setting up a computer for secure communications.
  • Performing secure computer communications.
  • Navigating to a point with no landmarks.
  • Determining coordinates of an accessible point with no landmarks.
  • Determining coordinates of an inaccessible landmark.

Curriculum:

  • Use and defense against firearms.
  • Sparring against multiple opponents.
  • Advanced computer privacy.
  • Advanced navigation.
  • Winter camping.
  • Working with security cameras.

Exam

  • All the physical training taught at this and all the previous levels.
  • Demonstration of a use of a computer using advanced privacy techniques.
  • Group navigation with a compass and a map.
  • Navigation without a compass or a map.
  • Attending a winter camp (prior to the exam).
  • Demonstration of preparation of work with security cameras.
